Magic Lantern Tapes 1987 (tape slide work transferred to HD video)

A set of 21 hand-painted and collaged 35mm transparencies with accompanying soundtrack, made by the artist between 1986-1987. The projection slides were made without a camera and hand 'painted' using inks, coloured gels, wire, text and other collaged elements. The soundtrack was edited on magnetic tape, using found sound and tapes recorded by the artist in London and Morocco. This film was originally produced as an analogue 'tape-slide' work and has been transferred into a 13 min video with sound (see below)
